Resilience Studio: Introducing a new way of planning climate adaptation pathways

We’re proud to announce the launch of Resilience Studio, our new flagship software platform for decision making around climate adaptation pathways.

What is Resilience Studio?

Resilience Studio helps plan adaptation pathways for climate change, considering a range of resilience measures. For example, nature-based solutions can complement property flood resilience, early warnings, and defences.

Developed with support from JBA Labs our innovation accelerator programme, Resilience Studio provides a library of analytical tools to evaluate multiple strategies across catchments and coasts, using standard appraisal methods.

It also visualises whole-life benefits and costs, allowing you to optimise investments such as infrastructure and nature-based solutions over time, to create a picture of resilience.

Resilience Studio is a flexible platform. You can measure resilience using metrics like people impacted or damage avoided. Importantly, it integrates natural capital assessment ensuring sustainable decisions. Decision support will also be guided with machine-learning assisted resilience strategies and profiling, to help identify what resilience looks like for a particular place.

Climate change scenarios

And it’s not just about flooding - Resilience Studio is agnostic to the type of hazard. You can assess full-lifetime costs and advantages over time against climate change scenarios.

  • Develop resilience strategies across multiple risks
  • Create realistic adaption footprints with cost-benefits
  • Present near-optimal adaptation pathways to provide choice.
